Father's Day

I have thought a lot about what to write today.
I think I'll keep it brief.

I am so thankful that I had a dad who:
Loved me unconditionally;
Instilled a strong work ethic in me;
Taught me to turn to God and His Word in times of distress.

What I am missing the most:
Daddy laughing so hard during card or board games with us that tears stream down his face;
Daddy dancing and acting silly in the kitchen;
Daddy telling stories that made everyone laugh;
Watching him play with my children with complete enjoyment;
Seeing his smile, hearing him say my name, being hugged by him.

I love him so much and I am so proud of him. Someone said to me: "I heard about your father's promotion to Heaven" and ever since, that is how I view it. I can't wait to see his smile again.

Laura, I know today had to be a tough day for you, since it was your first Father's Day without your Dad. I am praying for you!

Connor was so sweet today, giving Shelby all those things of his! Shelby is going to miss Connor at Music Camp this week!

Moving to TN has allowed me to appreciate the love between you and your dad. I'm so glad you are using your blog for matters so dear to the heart.

Also, thanks for making my Father's Day special. Maybe every day should end with a Root Beer Float!

What a beautiful and simple tribute to your earthly father. Thanks for sharing it!
